Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance
Health
We want to run family-based activities where children and their families affected by cancer can have a 'normal' family day or evening out.
About this cause
Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance (CCPA) works directly with Staffordshire based families whose children, teens & young adults have a cancer diagnosis. They also promote awareness, support, research and advocacy that focuses fully on the best interests of children and their families with cancer. CCPA organises activities such as days out, pamper sessions & coffee mornings to allow families to feel ‘normal’ & enjoy time together which will have a lasting impact to help them through very tough times. Many of our families face financial difficulties caused by the loss of earnings when dealing with the poorly child so we provide all activities free of charge. Our aim is that no family should feel isolated by the fear and negative impact that a childhood cancer diagnosis brings.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Family enrichment days strengthen family, and wider community relationships, at a time when families are often in crisis. Day out often focus on building friendships: which are highly valued by children who are either going through or finished treatment are also both by children and their parents. Children still want to do the same things as their friends, including days out.
