About this cause

The Church in Inveraray has a hall which is used by various community groups throughout the year. As there is no local community hall in Inveraray, the Church Hall (Glenarary Hall) is used by most local organisations for activities ranging from Indoor Bowling, Mothers and Toddlers, British Legion fund raising Coffee Mornings, 1st Aid classes and meetings by area organisation. The hall is very central to Argyll being located just over 1 hour from Oban, Dunoon and Campbeltown and 30 minutes away from the council HQ for Argyll and Bute. The hall kitchen is needing upgraded to meet current hygiene standards, one item beeing a commercial dishwasher. This would allow groups to fully use the facilities.

How this cause brings people in the community together

At the moment, local groups cannot use the kitchen for cooking as it does not meet current hygiene standards. With the many community groups and organisations using the hall, it would give them the added facility in the hall, enabling eg. parties to be able to be held with catering being carried out in-house
