We want to refurbish our office in Irvine, redecorating the front and back office.
About this cause
Irvine & Troon Cancer Care provides free transport for cancer patients attending hospitals in Glasgow and throughout Ayrshire to receive lifesaving treatment and (Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy etc.). The service we offer is available for anyone in our area to use free of charge. We cover the following localities:- Irvine, Dreghorn, Springside, Drybridge, Dundonald, Loans, Barassie and Troon. As cancer is being diagnosed earlier than before, we are seeing an increase in the number of patients we are supporting each year in our localities. Last year, our volunteer drivers completed 1350 journeys covering over 90,000 miles, taking patients to 2500 hospital appointments. This related to approximately 220 people from the areas covered by the Charity.
How this cause brings people in the community together
When finished the project will provide a more comfortable and friendly environment for patients visiting our office to arrange transport for their appointments. The new computer and office equipment will help improve the efficiency of our volunteer staff and so offer a better service to our patients..
