Boys' Brigade 18th Halifax
Young People
We want to take the lads away to Edinburgh to celebrate our centenary. Funding would help with transport and activities.
About this cause
We are a Christian uniformed youth organisation. The Boys' Brigade 18th Halifax Company was founded 1917 (and nationally in 1883) and we welcome boys aged 5-18 from Boothtown and surrounding areas. Boys who join undertake a varied programme of events including games, sports, crafts, competitions, trips, interaction with other BB companies in the Halifax Battalion and a varied badge programme. During the 2017/2018 session we are celebrating the centenary of our company and have various events planned including fundraising activities, a BBQ, trip to Flamingo Land, camp to Edinburgh, Race Night and a Centenary Dinner and Church Service. We are looking for funding to help the lads attend the weekend away in Edinburgh, as Scotland is the home of BB.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This will enable lads in the disadvanged area of Boothtown to visit Edinburgh and various attractions in the city, which otherwise they would be unable to do as they would be prohibited by cost.
