RSPCA North Staffs
Animal Welfare
We want to provide a free pet neutering service for those animals whose owners are on benefits or low incomes.
About this cause
Our charity rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes animals from cruelty and abuse across North Staffordshire. We also provide a free microchipping service, run regular free neutering campaignsfinancial animal welfare assistance, we offer for people on benefits or low incomes. We offer volunteering opportunities for local people needing social contact or looking for personal development opportunities. We have a long standing relationship with HM Prison Service whereby we provide voluntary work placements for individuals in resettlement prisons trying to assist their preparation for their return to normal employment.
How this cause brings people in the community together
As a whole the project will enable local residents on low incomes and/or benefits to ensure their animals' welfare needs are met and also mean that there are much fewer unwanted animals or stray/feral animals in the community, due to the reduction of accidental litters. It will also mean that there will fewer opportunities for owners to start breeding from their animals for profit.
