We want to remove the leaking areas on our Clubhouse flat roofs and replace them with new felting and bitumen sealing.
About this cause
The Organisation is a registered charity (From 1952) whose objectives are the provision of Sports, Recreation, Leisure, Education and other pursuit's conducive to the well-being of the inhabitants of Knypersley, Biddulph and the surrounding districts. The Organisation provides facilities for Cricket (3 Senior Teams & 4 Junior Teams age groups 8 to 17) , Outdoor and Indoor Bowling, 3 Football Teams (2 Senior & 1 Junior Team), Angling, 4 Local Pools and 5 rented waters. We also have a Multi Use Games Area used by Local Teams. The Clubhouse is used for local functions, i.e Weddings, Funerals, Charity Fundraising, Celebrity Sports Evenings. The Organisation is self funding by raising revenue for the upkeep of the Buildings and Maintenance of the Grounds.
How this cause brings people in the community together
With the exception of the Main Clubhouse Roof which is angled the others are old and leaking in many places. The local communities who use the facilities are now remarking about the growing number of leaks and damage to internal false ceilings and walls. The Trustees do not have the finances available to replenish all the work required. We can raise £5k to replace internal ceilings.
