We are raising money to rebuild an accessible, eco-friendly scout hut as we have had to demolish the old one.
About this cause
1st Carnforth Scout group, is an uniformed group for children age 6 to 18. We undertake a wide range of activities from cycling to climbing, rafting, pioneering to cooking and camping. Scouting provides adventure and challenge of all children regardless of their ability, gender or region. It teaches them life skills that are essential for life, whilst improving a child's wellbeing. 1st Carnforth Scout group is part of the world wide family of Scouting. 1st Carnforth group are saving money for their building and equipment fund, so they can rebuild their Scout hut. The pervious building was in such a bad state we have demolished it and need to raise the funds to build a new hut so we can continue to provide outdoor adventurous activities to the local community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Once we have rebuilt the building we will be able to double the number of youth members that access our Scout group and therefore lose our waiting list. Scouting teaches many essential life skills, whilst developing a child's wellbeing, this is important in an area that has a deprivation rating of D. We also have 12 supporting letters from other local groups wanting to use our new building.
