About this cause

Friends of Great Ouseburn School (FOGOS) is the parent teacher association for Great Ouseburn Community Primary School in North Yorkshire, a small school with 65 children in a rural community. The PTA is run by a committee and with the support of school staff, parents and the wider community we run four to five community events in the academic year to raise much needed funds for the school. The money goes towards additional learning equipment and educational resources as well as the transport for school trips. In addition to raising money for the school which cannot be met by budgetary means, our events also encourage more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school

How this cause brings people in the community together

The school is very much a community school, dedicated to providing the very best education for the children of Great Ouseburn and the surrounding villages. We’ve asked the children what would improve the outdoors area as we have limited space. They’ve asked for a chill-out, sensory garden that will also attract wildlife.
