About this cause

The League of Friends promotes voluntary service in Musgrove ad raises funds to buy essential equipment over and above what the NHS can afford. We are currently running an Appeal to raise £100,000 to replace the 100 remaining manual beds in Musgrove Park Hospital with Electric Profiling beds that will enhance the quality of life for the patient and enable faster recovery from illness. These beds can be simply operated either by staff or patient, making moving position easier with less risk of pressure sores. We have so far raised £20,000 but are appealing to the Co-op in Wellington to help us towards our target - Musgrove Park Hospital is the main hospital for the Wellington community. We hope that you may be able to help.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Musgrove Park Hospital serves a wide area of Somerset including Wellington, Taunton and Bridgwater. Wellington has a community hospital with a limited number of beds whereas Musgrove Park has nearly 600 beds including intensive care, paediatrics, neo natal and a & e. Replacing the old manual beds will make a huge difference to the comfort of the patient.
