1st Beaminster Scout Group
Young People
Enable the poorest of our community to access scouting opportunities by paying for their membership fees.
About this cause
1st Beaminster Scout Group is a uniformed youth organisation that offers quality Scouting opportunities to its members. We offer Scouting to young people aged 6-14 years of age from the town of Beaminster and outlying villages. Scouting provides a structured programme of activities, designed to help young people achieve their full potential as individuals, and be responsible members of their communities. They are able to learn skills to assist them in future life events. Scouting provides learning experiences in predominantly the outdoors in an enjoyable and safe environment.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We provide quality scouting for young people, however, due to pockets of deprivation in the area, some families are poor and lack motivation. The local authority have said that if young people from these families could join Scouting, it would boost their knowledge, self confidence and they would feel more valued in the community.
