We want to improve our facilities, including more musical instruments, for young people in the community.
About this cause
We organise an extensive programme of activities for persons of all ages in the local community. Our twice monthly Baby Boogie sessions are music and movement activities for pre-school children. We have occassional craft sessions for children up to 12 years old. We have a very popular weekly coffee morning for the wider community enabling people to socialise in a friendly environment and browse through a "new to you" section containing clothes, books, china and bric-a-brac. We organise an annual 2 week long Art and Craft Exhibition providing facilities for local artists and crafts people to display their talents to a wide audience thus encouraging novices to display in future years. We also organise the local collection of Christmas Shoeboxes which are sent to Eastern European countries.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Baby Boogie sessions are the only such sessions in the locality and is a time when the toddlers, parents & grandparents can have fun singing, playing instruments and socalising. The craft sessions are always well attended. The 2 week long art and craft exhibition enables local artists and craft people to display their talents and hopefully encourage visitors to follow in their footsteps.
