Installing a hearing loop in our hall will help the hearing impaired.
About this cause
As a village hall we provide the venue for many local group, such as keep fit, dance, flower club, age UK, etc as well as an entertainment venue. We are self funding and run the hall with the fees for hiring the hall plus a few fund raising events. The hall is run by a small committee of volunteers who take no fees. We are currently providing for a new cooking range in the Kitchen (£1500) and are also planning to install a hearing loop in the hall to help the many events for older people and the hearing impaired. Our quotation for this is £4,704.58. Another item on our agenda for the immediate future is to carry out repairs to the roof of the hall which was constructed in the 1920's. The cost of this is currently under investigation but could turn out to be a major cost.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By improving the facilities in the much used village hall, this will make the hall a lot more efficient for those who have hearing impairments as it will help them hear things a lot clearer.
