About this cause

Our organisation helps people in our local communities who have a range of disabilities, to engage in social and therapeutic horticultural activities. The sessions are lead by a qualified horticultural therapist, who can adapt and organise the tasks and activities to suit those taking part. The objectives are to relieve those in need by reason of age, ill health and disability through the development within the local communities of therapy gardens which aim to improve the health and wellbeing of service users as well as encouraging their social involvement with volunteers. To advance education and training in relation to horticultural activity through relevant means.

How this cause brings people in the community together

It will encourage the attendees to talk and show their relatives and friends about the gardening activities in which they have participated. The produce they will grow and have the opportunity to eat will encourage others to grow flowers and vegetables and to get outside and benefit from the green space and outside environment.
