About this cause

Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. The Scout Method Scouting takes place when young people, in partnership with adults, work together based on the values of Scouting and; enjoy what they are doing and have fun, take part in activities indoors and outdoors, learn by doing, share in spiritual reflection, take responsibility and make choices, undertake new and challenging activities, make and live by their Promise. Locally, Cowbridge Scout Group has approximately 87 young people, both male and female aged 6-14 (as of July 2017) and are supported by 18 Adults.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Not only is our Hall used by our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, but its also used by the local Explorers who are for people aged 14-18. We also have Brownies and Guides using our Hall on a weekly basis which means that our Hall is used by approximately 150 young people aged 6-18 plus the Leaders. We are also available for other Groups to hire the Hall.
