We want to expand our outdoor activities for our client group to enable them to gain the full benefit of living in a National Park.
About this cause
Caberfeidh Horizons is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, based in Kingussie, and has been operating for the last 11 years. We provide training activities and work experience in the heart of the community, for adults and young people with a learning disability or mental health problem. The charity is governed by a board of 11 volunteer directors. The project is managed by a salaried Project Manager. The charity is based in Kingussie High Street. Our Bookshop and Charity Shop provide training and work experience. Our activities programme forms an important part of our project. We currently have 55 clients working with us.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will allow clients to bring back knowledge to share with volunteers, other clients, staff, visitors and members of the local community. It will provide more partnership and networking opportunities thus breaking down barriers between rural communities. The project will further our aims of changing the communities' perception of vulnerable people.
