M3 Project Rossendale
Young People
Our project will provide useful items for homeless young people who have few belongings when they come to M3.
About this cause
M3 Project is a Rossendale based charity helping vulnerable young people (18-25) obtain accommodation and support to overcome homelessness and access a brighter future. We provide supported lodgings and supported properties for single young homeless people and families throughout East Lancashire. In partnership with relevant agencies, our support staff and volunteers encourage young people to develop independent living skills, re-engage with family and friends, access education, training or work, and support them in finding permanent accommodation of their own. In the year to September 2016 M3 helped 40 homeless young people and provided 6600 nights of accommodation. Our young people say “M3 Project helped me really turn my life around” and "provided support in the toughest of times".
How this cause brings people in the community together
This project will help young people settle in their accommodation quickly, register with any agencies and maintain links with family, friends and/or college in the community. Many arrive with few items in a bin bag and no money, so this project will provide basic things to allow young people to feel at home, stay at college, have stability and a sense of belonging in the local community.
