Headway South Staffordshire Carers Project
Social Inclusion
We would like to employ a support worker and set up a group to reduce social isolation and integrate carers into the community.
About this cause
Headway South Staffordshire has been meeting the needs of people with an acquired brain injury living within the Staffordshire area. The nature of brain injury can affect individuals in different ways such as challenging behaviour, memory loss and makes them socially isolated. Headway Staffordshire aims to support people and their families during this difficult journey, by providing services and support and advocacy.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Being able to have a Carer's Support Group for our day service would help our community out as I'm always being asked if we have one, but at the moment we have to say no. I feel that brain injury can effect individuals in different ways eg. behavioural, cognitive, physical, mood changes and memory problems which carers need to be made aware of and this would be a great service if we could have it.
