Funding will help us cover the cost of essential equipment and training, enabling us to deploy on emergency call outs.
About this cause
Aberdyfi SaRT provides a Search and Rescue service 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year in wild and remote locations throughout South Snowdonia and Mid Wales. The team is made up of a dedicated team of unpaid volunteers relying entirely on charitable donations giving up a large amount of their time to train and provide a voluntary search and rescue service in its operational area. We work in partnership with the North Wales Police, Welsh Ambulance Service, North Wales Fire and Rescue and the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter for a range of rescue activities including searching for and providing medical treatment to people in mountainous and inhospitable terrain, rescue from swift and flood waters, searching for vulnerable people missing from home and the occasional animal rescue too.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Without funding we are unable to help the public and the community who find themselves in desperate and unfamiliar or perilous circumstances. (Lost, injured, isolated, unwell) We go where most emergency services can not venture or don't have resources to reach in order to preserve and save life, and evacuate people from harms way or to a point where we can handover to emergency services.
