About this cause
Special Needs Under Fives Support is a local charity who recruit volunteers to support Special Needs children under the age of 5 within the Bolton Borough. Our main objective is to promote the inclusion of children between 2-5 years with any form of special educational needs or disabilities into mainstream pre-school provision. Our team of volunteers support these children on a one to one basis in a pre-school setting. This support assists in ensuring the child has the skills and knowledge needed on entering full time education. Our volunteers range from students to retired members of the community, they have access to training and gain experience of being in a work place which can lead to employment opportunities, help in reducing isolation and enhancing self esteem.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our recruitment programme includes DBS checks and safeguarding training before volunteers are offered a position. As members of the local community they gain knowledge and experience of being in a work place, leading to better job opportunities, reducing isolation, improving self-confidence and raising aspirations. Ensuring the children we support are kept safe in their early years setting.
