We need funds so that young carers can experience what is like to own a horse for the day.

About this cause

We support over 300 children and young people each week in our local community by teaching them about horsemanship and equitation. Through being around horses, participants develop transferable skills that can be used in everyday life such as teamwork, reliability, commitment and dedication, care of the world we live in, to name but a few. Our organisation also supports over 60 members with disabilities, teaching them not only to ride but also how to care about horses and ponies. We offer Outreach opportunities to Young Carers within our local community and we have started working with young offenders who volunteer with our Riding for the Disabled section. We are also about to work with our local children's services and local schools providing opportunities for disadvantaged children.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Young Carers are young people, aged 4-18 who have extraordinary caring responsibilities for a family member. What we offer provides respite, fun and enjoyment for those vulnerbale people within our local community, which will impact positively on their difficult lives, their happiness hopefully filtering through to other members of their family and community under difficult circumstances.
