We want to replace our gas boiler in order to improve the heating and hot water system.
About this cause
The main purpose of the PCC (Parochial Church Council) Parish House Fund is to maintain and run the Parish House as a community hall and this is the focus of this grant application. Our aim with the Parish House is to make it an affordable venue for local community groups of all ages. Over the last three years, we have been carrying out refurbishment of the Parish House, which has been funded by various fundraising activities and by various small grants from local organisations, eg the Community Shop fund and Town Council. As the Church's regular income is entirely used for the ministry of the Church and the upkeep of the Church building, the Parish House must attempt to fund itself.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It is intended that this project will improve the comfort and facilities of the Parish House for all those who use it. The hall is used regularly by groups such as the Brownies, Guides and Rainbows, HomeStart children's group, hand-bell ringers, Kington Amateur Operatic Society (KADOS), the fortnightly Lunch Club and by a Yoga group. The hall is also available for hire for parties and meetings.
