About this cause
In our local area, Home-Start Goole and District, offers one to one, personalised support for parents with children under the age of 8, reaching out to those feeling overwhelmed, isolated or exhausted. Our fully trained volunteers work along-side parents and families in their own homes providing specialised, practical support, helping to develop coping strategies and empowering parents to become more confident. Our volunteers are often a lifeline for families who would otherwise feel ignored or marginalised by society. Home-Start promotes stronger and more positive family relationships and helps to create happier, safer homes for many local children and their parents. Without Home-Start local families in need would simply not have their voices heard. We are here and we are listening!
How this cause brings people in the community together
Families need support for many reasons, some are faced with illness, a child's disability, a breakdown, bereavement or financial worries. Home-Start Goole and District provides non-judgmental practical and emotional support to those in our immediate community who may otherwise face involvement from other agencies and services. By working preventatively with parents this can often be avoided.
