We want to raise money towards a new internet lease line and to purchase additional resources to help the children in our village school.
About this cause
Friends of Audlem St James is a fundraising committee that plans and organises events throughout the year to encourage parental involvement with the school and community whilst raising money for the school. Each year the school produces a wish list of items which would benefit the children. To date this has included library and reading books, musical instruments, white boards, playground equipment and computers for each classroom. This year, Friends are looking to raise money towards a new internet lease line (to support the increased usage of new IT equipment purchased), new books to create reading areas in each of the 7 classrooms and a visit from an organisation providing interactive workshops to raise awareness of special educational needs and disabilities in schools.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Improving facilities at our local school will have great benefit for children and their families throughout the school. Raising awareness of the co-op community scheme across the school (in encouraging parents/family members to join/support the scheme) will have a long term impact on other organisations benefitting from the scheme in future years.
