Impact Arts
Art & Culture
We will deliver a creative project that explores identity and wellbeing with two groups of primary school children in Glasgow's East End.
About this cause
Established in 1994, Impact Arts is a forward-thinking community arts organisation, using arts & creativity to enable & empower social change. Our mission is to transform lives through creativity & the arts. The arts are a positive tool for change – helping people to: - Build confidence, attain new skills - Get back into work/education - Tackle social isolation, improve community cohesion - Enjoy better health, improve quality of life - Access quality creative/cultural experiences We work collaboratively with communities to achieve our aims, working predominantly, with vulnerable groups. Each year we work with over 6000 people, engaging in creative activity through projects & events. In 2016-17, 31 staff, 74 freelance artists & 8 volunteers helped deliver 119 projects across 9 regions.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Access to creative & cultural activities is often limited or doesn't exist in the communities we will work in. Our project will bring the arts to these communities by showcasing the work & talent of their children & by ensuring they have access to these exhibits - The Young Gallery is open to the public and based in the heart of Glasgow East. The project will also explore relevant local issues.
