About this cause

55 million litres of paint are thrown away in the UK every year. Our mission is to keep that paint from going to landfill, where it contributes to harmful methane build-up and can contaminate soil and water. We take surplus paint from re-use and recycling centres, re-mix it, make sure it’s in good condition and sell it as a more affordable, eco-friendly alternative to new paint. Our paint is accessible to all, from local artists making murals, to families improving their homes, to churches and community groups seeking to brighten up a shared space. We have supported the local community in Waltham Forest for almost 30 years. At the heart of our operations are our volunteers who come from all walks of life, and through their work with us grow their skills, confidence and support networks.

How this cause brings people in the community together

This project will brighten up community spaces for the benefit of residents and visitors. It will have a lasting legacy as everyone will be able to enjoy and take inspiration from the murals. Our project will facilitate positive interaction between residents and community groups, and will use waste paint in a positive, creative way. It will improve both community pride and cohesion.
