We want to provide a covered area where children and staff can learn in the natural environment and is accessible all year round.
About this cause
Grappenhall Pre-school is a committee run charity, serving the local community and based in the village. Running since 1972, we provide high quality, affordable, accessible childcare to children, from 2yrs 6 months to school age. We strive for them to be safe, confident and ready for school. We follow the guidelines within the Early Years Foundation Stage and are regulated by Ofsted, and were recently given the "Outstanding" judgement. The staff do this with the use of focused and child led activities, encouraging children to work within groups and as individuals. We have strong links within the community including the local church, library, post office and shops. We also work closely with the local primary schools to enable our children to have the best transition into school.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Outdoor learning is beneficial to many children who cant settle within the restraints of a "classroom" at such a young age. As the preschool can be attended by up to 75 local children each academic year, there will be a great number using the outdoor classroom for years to come. The center is utilized by the broader community for parties and functions so they will also have access to the project.
