We would like to upgrade the sound system at the Devonport Playhouse to enhance the facilities that we currently have.
About this cause
The City of Plymouth Theatre Company are an amateur Theatre Company , who own the Devonport Playhouse, which was converted from a Methodist Chapel to a community theatre neary 30 years ago. The Theatre Company themselves produce and perform 2 shows a year, and they also have a telented Youth Group of approximately 80 youngsters from the age of 5-19, who meet weekly, and also produce 2 shows a year too. The Devonport Playhouse is also available for hire by other local organisations and amatuer theatre groups. Our objectives are to produce great amateur theatre in the Plymouth Area; provide a learning platform for youngsters and encourage them to perform whilst growing confidence in themselves and to allow other groups and companies to use the facility of the Devonport Playhouse
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Playhouse will have better and more up to date facilities and our 326 seater theatre will enhance not only the general public who are our patrons but also the community theatre groups that regularly hire the Playhouse for their own productions
