About this cause
Diverse Abilities provides expert care to children, young people and adults with complex disabilities across Dorset engendering a sense of self-confidence and empowerment rather than one of dependence and reliance. Diverse Abilities focus on the positives and aim to give those supported a fantastic life and encouraging future. By providing round the clock care and support, the charity gives a little bit of sunshine to the people it supports, making sure they have everything they need to have an enjoyable and fulfilling life. The services are full of fun, laughter and joy and service staff work extremely hard to support the people’s needs and ensure every day is fun, rewarding and challenging.
How this cause brings people in the community together
An absorbing and enjoyable social life is a fundamental characteristic of a meaningful life. We provide support for people to enable them to fully participate in the social and economic life of their community, whether this is shopping, sports or social activities. Friendships are important for everyone, so our service users also have access to small group activities, with their friends.
