We want to take disabled children and their families on fun days out during school holidays to places such as Dartmoor Zoo.
About this cause
Beckly is a Routeways project where disabled children and young people can enjoy positive and inclusive fun social activities in a friendly, caring and supportive environment at our accessible premises located in beautiful Radford Park, Plymstock. Regular weekend and evening activities throughout the year with additional weekday activities during all school holidays offering opportunities to join in small groups with a wide range of play, social and practical activities both at Beckly and in the wider community. We are able to cater for a broad spectrum of additional or special requirements, disabilities and conditions. Services provided can include personal care and one to one support for children and young people.
How this cause brings people in the community together
These families struggle to go on trips and activities because of support needs, parents get little respite and families often become isolated in their communities because they have little opportunity to socialise outside of the family. As a family they have little opportunity to spend quality time together, parents have to spend large amount of their time as carers and nurses.
