We will buy equipment that lends itself to use by less able kids and adults and put on Fun Days aimed at special needs members.
About this cause
The Club was founded eight years ago by Billy Wells to get local kids off the streets, into sport. away from crime/ASBO /Drug culture that plagues our area. Football is his passion so it started as a football club. We have 5 teams. All registered with FA, Tots 3 to5 yr old up to under 14s. Disabled team(Friendlies only) Youth club. Mother/Toddler group. Homework club (Winter). Arthritis Carers once a month. Lunch club. also do cookery demo's, Healthy eating (cookery ) Demo's. (Winter). Presently recruiting girls teams as there is demand. Also working with local agencies to provide Social /sport opportunities for physically less able children/adults.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will help the people excluded from normal involvement to have a chance to socialise, gain confidence and realise they are welcome. There is evidence in our club that you can break down barriers, real or imagined, by bringing together different age groups and social streams.
