About this cause

The Village Hall is owned by St. Luke’s Church in Shireoaks and managed by its Parochial Church Council. Its aim and objectives are to provide a meeting place for all ages of the community and provide facilities for groups at an affordable cost. The Village Hall is used by a wide variety of groups on a regular basis, these include : Art Class, Beavers, Bassetlaw Twinning Association, Brownies, Carnival, Church, County Council, Cubs, District Council, Elections, Guides, Line Dancing, Little Acorns, Luncheon Club, Needlework, Parish Council, Rainbows, Slimming World, Tae Kwon-Do, Tai-Chi, Tiddlers and Womens Institute. The hall is also used for Birthday Party’s, Christenings, Funerals and Weddings, as well as being the place where residents meet to discuss issues with their local MP.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The successful refurbishment of the hall will enhance the community cohesion and inclusion between key organizations within Shireoaks and Rhodesia, many of which meet in the hall. The hall is one of the few venues within Shireoaks and Rhodesia that can accommodate large gatherings. The hall will become a desirable venue for weddings and other functions and will be known as an excellent venue
