We want equipment to continue to help young people in Ormskirk and beyond to gain access to the DofE Awards.
About this cause
Amplify youth group Part of St Anne's and St Elizabeths Church in Ormskirk. The Youth Ministry team put on two sessions a week, one is a general youth session for a punt people between 11-16 on a Wednesday between 15.15pm - 17.15pm. The second session is a Duke of Edinburgh session on a Thursday from 18.30pm - 21.00pm. Until 2017 we worked with Lancashire Council and got support from them to run the DofE. They are now unable to help with any funding or support. Part of the support was free use of equipment, it is the equipment which we need help with money wise. To continue to support upwards of 50 young people each year to participate in Bronze, Silver and Gold we need to purchase equipment. We are hoping to raise £10,000 in 2018 to buy equipment. Any help would be great.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Amplify youth group gives a safe environment to young people in Ormskirk. We have been helping young people for over ten years and in that time have seen hundreds of Young People use our facilities. For the past six years we have helped with Duke of Edinburgh and helped over a hundred gain Bronze, Silver or Gold. We need help to continue our work.
