About this cause

Saltburn Animal Rescue Association is a local charity set up in 1995 to provide rescue and re-homing of animals. In 2007 we bought the premises in Redcar a derelict site which involved considerable work. The charity runs purely on donations from various sources and every penny goes directly to the animals and we continue to improve the site as and when funds allow. Our policy is to treat each animal admitted as an individual in its own right. We give priority to their veterinary needs and each animal is vaccinated, neutered and micro-chipped on arrival. We have a non destruct policy unless the animal is too ill or considered dangerous therefore un-homable. Unfortunately this area has become one of the black spots in the country and SARA has become a life line for many animals

How this cause brings people in the community together

With the recent labour crisis in the area we are aware that many animals will suffer, however, SARA will go that extra mile to accommodate any animal which finds itself homeless and the extra accommodation for the dogs will be an asset to the organisation and the community.
