About this cause

Our organisation is a community hall which various groups in the village hire out for their own events. Also individuals can hire it out for parties funeral teas coffee mornings etc We have for the past few years been in a programme to refurbish the facility and to make it more pleasing and cost effective to our users. We have installed a disabled toilet with an access ramp to the front of the building together with a P A system with induction loop for the hard of hearing. We are at the moment getting the front of the building which is stone re-pointed to stop wind and water damage getting inside as over the years the damp has resulted in the plaster falling off the internal walls which looks terrible and is often commented on but we have to concentrate on getting the outside done first.

How this cause brings people in the community together

This project will help the community as a whole by making the inside of the building more fit for purpose. Re-plastering the big hall with the appropriate plastering suitable for the building will enable the hall to be insulated properly and combat the current problem with damp. This will benefit the majority group that use the hall, this group being the elderly.
