About this cause
STEEL BONES is a newly registered charity which works to give support to all amputees and their families, in anyway possible. From helping new amputees come to terms with their new life, latest news on stump health, promote healthy and active lifestyle, signpost useful services, therapists, personal trainers, sports clubs and provide flexible careers opportunities. Our focus is on the entire family. We are very passionate about supporting families and so one of our most important goals is to release a series of children’s books featuring amputees in normal, everyday situations. We shall be working with children who are amputees themselves to create these. We also want to produce an inspiring pack for every amputee: written by amputees for amputees.
How this cause brings people in the community together
To bring the whole community together at planned fun days and to show / educate awareness of the problems which can surround amputees and their whole family. Also to be able to show amputees that they are still part of the community and their voice will still be heard.
