We would like to bring a little happiness to disadvantaged children at Christmas time with presents and dinner.
About this cause
We are an independent charity established in 1990 to improve the lives of local people. We provide grants for families in crisis, local charities, community groups & voluntary organisations. In 2016/17 our grants helped; older people to keep warm during the cold winter months; children with special needs enjoy activities usually inaccessible to them; struggling families purchase essential household items; disabled people with equipment and activities to improve their quality of life; provide hungry children with healthy breakfasts; the unemployed to re-train & gain employment; bring together isolated people who are elderly, blind or deaf. Last year we impacted the lives of over 20,000 people through grants totalling £102,179. All funds are raised through donations & fundraising events.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We would hope to bring happiness and positivity to many hundreds of children and their families. We expect that our intervention will prevent many families from taking our affordable loans for Christmas, meaning they won't spiral into debt and will be able to better manage their limited income for essential items such and heating and food.
