About this cause

We work with girls in the local area from the age of 5 to 18. We aim to empower women by teaching them life skills, giving them knowledge of the local community and wider world and give them a range of experiences to develop their confidence to help them to become well rounded, educated and caring individuals. We take part in community projects to help the people around us e.g. litter picking or singing at the local old people's home. We go on camps and residential to help girls develop their confidence and independence. They learn how to get along together and work as a team as well as how to look after themselves as individuals when away from their parents. They get the chance to do activities such as climbing, canoeing and abseiling as well as other things like crafts and 1st aid.

How this cause brings people in the community together

It will give all our girls whatever their economic background the chance to come together as a community to learn, grow and develop. They will be given the opportunity to learn new skills and improve their confidence and independence enabling them to become good citizens and model members of society giving back to their community by learning how to become the Guide Leaders of the future.
