We want to build a church hall to improve life for our congregation, for the local community and for people of all faiths to enjoy together.
About this cause
The church and priest supports the congregation of Wimbledon Common and Southfields in their spiritual needs but also provides many events to bring the people of the community together. Every year there is a summer fair/BBQ held in the garden, a small Christmas fair held in the church as there is no church hall. Christmas meals for the elderly held in the school hall. Events for the children held outside the church or in the garden if the weather is good. For the last 3 years the parish priest along with the Social Committee have desperately been trying to raise funds for a church hall which would benefit the community. There would be coffee mornings, playgroups, after school clubs, weddings, social events where individuals could hire for private use.
How this cause brings people in the community together
A place where the community can come together for learning, exercise and social events to assist in supporting a healthy lifestyle in mind and body can hopefully only have a positive impact on the local people.
