About this cause
The Friends of Ilsington School supports and enhances the educational experiences of children attending the school. We provide resources for additional materials, equipment and trips for all pupils. Ilsington school is a small state school located on Dartmoor, with 56 pupils and a newly established preschool with 24 children. As well as the above, our small team of dedicated parents regularly run fun activities, such as making Mother's Day posies, origami shirts and Easter Egg hunts. Our objectives, as per our constitution are as follows: - Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school; and - Engaging in activities and providing facilities and equipment which supports the school and advance the education of pupils.
How this cause brings people in the community together
As a small school, our presence in the community supports all other aspects of village life, such as the community shop, village hall, church, playing fields as well as local events. It is vital that our little village school thrives and continues to play an important role in the survival of rural village life.
