About this cause

We are the Parents Teachers Association of the Ramsey Manor Lower School. We are a small team of 10 who work together throughout the academic year to raise funds. We tirelessly fund raise money to support additional activities, apparatus and events which enhance the children's learning and curriculum in school. We are currently raising money to support the Autism Unit (Gold Class) to update their outside space and create a soft-room. This unit is often used as a social environment where main stream children assist the children in the unit to develop their social skills both in the indoor space and outside space which they have. The renovations we are proposing will create a fun, sensory and social place for the children to develop.

How this cause brings people in the community together

It will enable the mainstream children to build on the acceptance that we are all different, and it's okay to be different. This is a major obstacle for Autism children as they stand out with their odd and unique behaviours. Greater acceptance of "different" is required to take this forward into middle and high school that a more inclusive environment can be created.
