We'd like to create an outdoor reading space to support everyday reading for pupils and their families and purchase an iPad for teaching.
About this cause
Belgrave Parent Teachers Association raises money for the children of Belgrave Primary School, to enhance their educational environment. The PTA works alongside staff at the school to raise money for a variety of projects that benefit the children's education and also enrichment activities which the school cannot afford to fund. Various fundraising events include Christmas and Summer Fairs, Ladies Fashion Show, taking part in Chester Half Marathon, Ice Cream Fridays, Quiz Night, Annual Reading Challenge, and non uniform days. This year the PTA have provided interactive teaching screens for Year 1 and 4 classrooms. When these screens need replacing the quality of the image becomes poor and the blinds need to be pulled down which makes it difficult for children to work.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will encourage reading for fun & improve literacy for all. Pupils and their families will have access to the Beehive before, after and during the school day to help foster a love of independent reading and aid many children’s well-being, as the 'Beehive' will offer a calm space to relax & be quiet, away from playground noise. An iPad will assist teaching & communication with parents.
