We want to take the girls further afield from the usual meeting place where they can be themselves and challenge their personal abilities.
About this cause
1st Evanton Guides currently have 12 members, this is a female organisation which we run fortnightly. We take part in a variety of activities from crafts and badges in the meeting place to outdoor cooking and camping. We organise activities for the girls involving days, weekends and even weeks away which builds their confidence and often teaches them new valuable skills. Throughout the year the unit will take part in ample fundraising so that the girls can achieve what they want to do. The unit has an active roll in the community, often volunteering at a variety of events and representing the unit and organisation as a whole. If we were to receive the Co-op funding we would love to go for an action packed adventure week to challenge the girls and also bring them closer as a group.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will encourage the youths of the village to join Guiding, where they have a space to relax and socialise but also time to discover themselves and their skills. Being involved in Guides opens up endless opportunities for girls, from confidence building and creativity to international travel. It will be good for the community as the girls will pass on positive messages to younger generations.
