We want to update our kitchen cooking equipment and resources to broaden the children's experience and knowledge of healthy eating choices.
About this cause
We are a not-for-profit charitable organisation run by a voluntary committee of staff and parents. The aim of our pre-school is to enhance the development and education of children primarily under statutory school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide for the needs of their children through community groups. Our ethos is to make learning as fun and active as possible. We have a large outdoor area for children to explore and investigate, and coupled with our indoor space and free-flow system, our setting allows our children to experience their entire space freely and independently. This approach helps the children to develop confidence, motivation, creative thinking and problem solving ideas, skills which support their learning in a safe, stimulating and caring environment.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Kingfisher Pre-School support the Nippers Nutrition Programme, actively encouraging healthy eating at our setting and at home. Teaching children and families to make healthy choices early benefits society later. Our setting is at MEYC. Community groups held at MEYC in the evenings would also have access to the kitchen, thus extending the benefits of the new equipment to the wider community.
