Funds would help us take youngsters to a survival camp by the seaside where they can learn new skills.
About this cause
We provide a varied and exciting mixture of activities both indoors and outdoors for youngsters aged 6-15 years in line with rules set out by the scouting body. We provide a safe environment for our weekly meetings. Regularly we involve members of the community inviting them to join us and share their knowledge as well as helping other organisations and charities on coffee mornings, litter picks, manning a water station at marathons and a stall at Ferriby open gardens. This has allowed us to raise some funds but also helps to raise funds for others. Each year the youngsters take part in overnight residential camps in summer and indoors in winter. We believe the youngsters learn new skills and life experiences which in turn helps to build their confidence as well as making new friends.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This will benefit the community by developing well rounded individuals that live in their neighbourhood that have new skills and are more confident. The youngsters will be able to use these skills whilst growing up and in the future This will help to develop their knowledge, confidence, self awareness whilst working alone and as part of a team.
