Aberdeen RDA needs to buy specialist mounting equipment and ponies in order to offer its therapeutic riding to more disabled children.
About this cause
The Riding for the Disabled Aberdeen Group is the oldest member group of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) in Scotland. We are dedicated to improving the lives of disabled people through our fun and therapeutic riding sessions. RDA sessions regularly achieve positive physical improvements for disabled riders but they are also proven to help with communication, relationships and confidence. We offer all our sessions free of charge to both disabled children and adults, thanks to the help of over 50 volunteers. We have recently moved to Camphill School Murtle so that we can offer more sessions to the many people in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire who can benefit from riding with us. To do this we need to buy specialist mounting equipment and more ponies.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We have a waiting list of disabled adults and children wanting to benefit from our riding sessions. By investing in this specialist equipment and ponies, we will be able to offer our services not just to more people, but also to those with a broader range of disabilities.
