We need funds for specialist equipment to support our volunteers in their roles and help them to save more lives in their local community.
About this cause
St John Ambulance is a national charity that works locally to provide first aid in the community, keep people safe at events, and campaign to raise the awareness of first aid to the public. Our volunteers are highly trained in life saving skills, and are just as likely to use these skills at an event in their community as they are doing their weekly shop. First aid is such a simple skill, but it has an incredible impact. We at St John Ambulance want everyone to learn first aid so that they too can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Every time St John Ambulance are out in the community providing first aid, or meeting in their local unit, a defibrillator will be present and all volunteers - including young people from the age of 12 - are trained how to use it. Our volunteers are highly trained in life saving skills, and are just as likely to use these skills at an event in their community as they are doing their weekly shop.
