About this cause

The trust is a small family run charity providing memory boxes to bereaved parents. The boxes are distributed by bereavement professionals in hospitals, children's hospices, churches and other support groups for parents to place treasured mementos of their child during the initial time of loss, grief and suffering and can be a lasting memory. The boxes are also in our local Adult Hospice (Willen) where they are given to children to build lasting memories with their ailing loved one before the inevitable loss. The boxes can be customised and decorated by the recipients if desired. The Trust is now looking at expanding it's local coverage to work with schools and other youth groups to provide access to boxes for more children who suffer the loss of a close family member.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Grief can be difficult for an adult to deal with, let alone a child or teenager. It is hoped that the local memory box scheme will promote support for children outside of their immediate family unit through the process of giving and helping a youngster make and fill a box as well as raise awareness and encourage engagement with other local bereavement support networks and services accessible.
