About this cause

Our objectives are to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate suffering of animals in our local area. We are a separate registered charity and responsible for our own fundraising, but affiliated to the National RSPCA. We achieve our work by a comprehensive programme of animal welfare, rehoming local cats and offering advice and support to the local community. Recently we have run low cost microchipping and neutering campaigns and the demand has been high. The cost of dog neutering to the branch is higher than neutering other animals and we would like to help more dog owners with neutering. (Although other animals are always welcome) When an owner applies for help with neutering they are able to get advice on any other concerns they have for this important family member.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Calmer dogs in the local community. No unwanted puppies. Families calmer without the stress of dogs on heat. Less dogs fighting and straying. Animals able to be reunited with their family if they are microchipped. There are also some medical benefits associated with neutering, so families can enjoy their pet longer.
