We want to provide Biggleswade Scout Group with better facilities at the scout hut, including replacing the old boiler.
About this cause
The Biggleswade Scout Group is a thriving community of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts, providing a programme of personal development for over 200 young people aged between 6 and 18 years old. We are currently fundraising for building improvements to our Scout Hut. If we are successful with this application, we would like to put the money towards our first project: boiler replacement, kitchen and bathroom improvements. A new boiler would ensure our sections continue to be kept warm during activities in the scout hut; kitchen improvements will allow our young people to work towards their food and hygiene badges, and bathroom improvements will provide up to date bathroom facilities for our young people to use.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project to update the scout hut will provide the community with a venue that is centrally located in Biggleswade for young people to meet in a safe environment that provides up to date facilities. The Scout Hut will also provide a venue for other community groups to benefit from these facilities - bringing the community together.
