We want to train volunteers to deliver a shopping and community link service for older, vulnerable people experiencing loneliness.
About this cause
KPAIS has always been a provider of independent advocacy for older people with an underlying ethos that supports choice, control and independence in all that we do. KPAIS additionally provides a trusted trader register for older and vulnerable people across Knowsley, (TASK) keeping this group safe from rogue traders. Information and support can encourages participation in peoples own decisions and choices and helps people to stay in control of their own lives often at times when age or illness and life events contribute to feelings of vulnerability.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By ensuring that hard to reach older people are supported to access shops and activities of their choice. We expect this will in turn support older people to contribute to the community in more meaningful ways for eg by volunteering themselves and sharing their skills and experience. People who are valued experience improved physical and mental health and wellbeing.
